Rehabilitation of Kanaker HPP.
Contract 9665514. (Consortium with «ALSTOM POWER» firm)
OJSCo. “Arpa-Sevan” was involved in implementation of civil works in the framework of Program “Rehabilitation of Kanaker HPP” on the following projects:
I. Diversion structures (DM 0+00  DM 123+35),- the diversion canal, tunnels ¹¹1 and 2, Daily Pond before the gates, peak canal, forebay, settling basin, engineering structures (bridges, super passages, outlets);
II. Main Weir,- water intake structures, pedestrian bridge, access bridge, cleaning of the channel of the Hrazdan River at the Headrace and Tailrace, left-bank training wall, shotcreting works;
III. Cable Gallery,- hydraulic sealing of covering;
IV. Penstock,- shotcrete over anchor supports, cleaning of the ravin and installation of metallic stairs;
V. Power House,- foundations of ¹5 and ¹6 generators and of the compressor, floorings of the engine room, turbine hall and of erection site; the tailrace canal and suction chambers, sanitary and finishing works; technical water supply of the units, the storage, the platforms and roads;
VI. 110 kV Switchyard,- foundations under the equipment of ¹5 and ¹6 transformers bay, and of the measurement bay, arrangement of pits and foundations under transformers units ¹5 and ¹6, substation grounding system, rehebilitation of cable galleries;
VII. 35 kV Switchyard,- dismantling, mounting of auxiliary equipment, developing of area;
VIII The chute of no-operation spillway.
Some difficulties and problems in the organization of works were created during the implementation of works on acting, operated objects as well as on the diversion canal and connected engineering structures in the presence of water, supplied to water users for irrigation, and negative ambient temperature in the winer period.
As a whole the following main scopes of works on appropriate projects have been implemented at scheduled times:
1. The eartwork – 48415 m3.
2. Concrete and reinforced concrete – 10710.6 m3.
3. Installation of reinforcement – 536.6.5 Ton.
4. 5 cm thick shotcrete – 74063.0 m2.
5. 3 cm thick shotcrete – 4723.0 m2.
6. Grouting – 4940.6 m3.
7. Steel structures – 37.5 Ton.
8. Expansion joints – 26395 m.
9. Presast reinforced concrete – 122 m3.
10. Facing works – 1750.8 m2.
11. Flooring of cast iron plates – 210 m2.
12. Drilling of holes – 2544.4 m.
13. Laying of pipelines – 2062 m.
14. Wiring of power cables – 4972 m.
15. Toilet-sets, buthroom and shower sets – 15 sets.
The cost of implemented works was 1537436.24 thousand Dram or 2751222 $US
