The Project provides for the construction of new gravity irrigation scheme that is a buried pipeline of 4887m length and is made of pipes of 8207 mm in diameter, and the headworks of which coincides with that of of the open Nalband canal. The intake of water is made from the Chichkhan River. The pipeline is connected with the existing siphon with 1200 mm in diameter. The hydraulic sealing of the inner and external surfaces of the pipes is foreseen.
This system shall provide 545 l/sec discharge of water for irrigation of 800 ha land in Shirakamut, Metz Parni, Saralandzh and Katnadzhur Conmmunities. The works include the excavation of soil and trenching both in the terrain and along the river bed, placing of conduit pipeline with waterproofing, construction of the headwork structure, particularly of concrete, steel structures, water outlets and gaging stations, construction of distributing and emptying reservoirs, required metal working processes, mounting of gates, performance of works connected with the transport and installation of the produce and materials to the Construction Site.
